We arrived in Russell in May, 1916 with our son, Neil. Our jewellery store was on Main Street. Our son Earle was born on November 23, 1916 with Dr. Bates and Nurse Kippan attending. Three years later our son, Jack was born.
The boys attended Russell School when Mr. Pratt was principal. We enjoyed our ten years in Russell and made many friends. When we left there the Knox Church presented us with an illuminated address made by Laurie Smith which I treasure. We went to live in Cranbrooke, B.C. but I always remember the many friends we made in Russell.
Neil Park married Merle Spice. He is now living in Peterborough, Ont. He is on the staff of a jewellery store. They have two children, Oralee (Mrs. Robert Mitchell) and Norman.
Earle Park - by Joan (Mrs. Earle Park) - 1967
Earle and I were married on October 14, 1939. We
have two children: Jack who has his B.A and his M.Sc. in Geology; and Dawna
Lee who is still in school.
Earle and Jack are in partnership in jewellery store (N.R. Park and Sons).
Earle is a well known square dance instructor. Last year we were honored to be chosen for a tour across Canada and a trip to Hawaii. Now plans are underway for a European tour with stop off at the Expo in Montreal. In 1965 our dance group appeared on the C.B.C. "Show of the Week" with Hank Snow.
Jack Park married Alice Aveling while he was still in the Air Force. They have two girls, Mavis and Lorraine.
