THE WILLIAM KENNEDY FAMILY

Mr. and Mrs. William Kennedy came from Tara, Ontario in the year 1888 and settled on the N.E. 1/4 of 20-20-27, later acquiring more land.

Their home was built on the old Pelly Trail, a rugged zig-zag road caused by many one-horse drawn Red River carts. All meterials for buildings were brought with horses and wagon from the nearest railway point which was many miles away.

Mrs. Kennedy was the daughter of R.D. and Mary Coulter, one of the Silver Creek earliest settlers. They had three sons, Lorne, Russell and Elmer and a daughter, Olla.

Lorne Kennedy - (Deceased). His wife was Jessie McCallum of Stratford, Ontario. They made their home in Edmonton, Alberta. They had one son and one daughter. Their son Mac (deceased) married Beatrice Jewkes. Merle Kennedy married Jack English.
Russel Kennedy. Retired Hardware merchant of Vancouver, B.C. Married, Agnes Shopland of Rochester, Alberta. They have one son and two daughters.
Gerald, Meteorological Officer Canadian Forces who married Nancy Harshaw of Orangeville, Ontario.
Muriel - Teacher, whose first husband, Lorne Maclean (Navigator RCAF) was killed in an airplane accident in the Arctic Circle in 1950. Later she married Albert Dorey.
Elizabeth - Teacher in North Vancouver, B.C., married Kenneth Robinson.
Olla Kennedy - Married O.H. Sprague (deceased), Investment Broker, Edmonton, Alberta.

Elmer Kennedy - Farmer, Moore Park, Manitoba. First marriage Edith McNichol (deceased) of Russell, Manitoba .he had a son, Lionel, and a daughter, Lois.
Lionel - Retired Lieutenant Commander, Royal Canadian Navy. Married Elizabeth Gallacher of Collingwood, Ont.
Lois - Librarian, married Jack Muir, Geophysicist with the Chevron Standard Co. Calgary, Alberta.
Elmer Kennedy was remarried to Ruby Cranswick, teacher, Moore Park, Manitoba. They had one son.
Goldwyn - Student, Moore Park, Manitoba.

After the death of his first wife, William Kennedy married Rose Ann Watt of Tara, Ontario. They had five daughters and four sons.
Flossie - The eldest daughter, married Harold McKean. They lived in Binscarth, Man. for a short time before moving to Alberta. They now live in Lethbridge, Alberta. They have three sons.
William McKean, an employee of the City of Lethbridge, whose wife is Wanda Holland.
Robert McKean, Alberta, who married Colleen Harker of Raymond, Alberta.
Richard McKean, Accountant, married Kathleen Zentner.

Edgar - Machine Operator, who married Effie Nahirney. They have two sons.
Alan Kennedy has an M.A. degree in English and teaches in the University of
British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C. He married Shelagh Thrift.
Raymond Kennedy, a student, lives in Vancouver, B.C.

Lillian - Nurses with the General Hospital, Winnipeg, Man. Married William Anderson (deceased), a Grain Buyer of Silverton, Man. They had two daughters and a son.
Margaret (Peggy) Anderson, deceased.
       Robert Anderson, Chief Inspector Highway Traffic Board, Regina, Sask., married
Jean Park. They live in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Joyce Anderson married Clifford Gray a farmer, Silverton, Man.

Irene - married James P. Bush, Accountant. They have two sons.
Garth Bush, Securities Salesman, married Helen Woloszyn of Jarvie, Alberta.
Lorne Bush, Accountant, married Patricia Darbyshire.

Howard - Telephone Journeyman Lineman married Kathleen McManus (deceased) of Russell, Man. He lives at Fort William, Ontario. They had three daughters.
Shirley is the wife of Richard Malo.
Sheila married Ronald Dakin.
Sharon, the youngest, is a High School Student.
Howard’s second marriage was to Mrs.Norma Dunlop (now deceased). Her daughter Linda Dunlop (Mrs. Lowell Paulsen) lives in San Leandro, California.

Wallace - Saw Fitter Foreman, Victoria, B.C. (deceased 1962) married Lorna Hadden. They have three sons and one daughter.
Wallace Hadden Kennedy, Jr. married Margaret Hornbrook.
William Glenn Kennedy married Grace Dalkey.
Lorrayne Anne Kennedy lives at Victoria, B.C.
Jack Allan Kennedy, deceased 1960.

Roy - Department Manager, McLeods Hardware of Winnipeg, Man. married Lucy Corley of Russell, Man. They have two daughters.
Betty married Alan Marriott, Aeronautic Engineer.
Beverly, Long Distance Supervisor, Manitoba Telephone.

Mary - Married J. N. R. McFadyen (deceased) of Yorkton, Sask. They had
two daughters.
Jill married Dr. C. G. Strong, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Bonnie is a Registered Nurse at Queen's Hospital, Honolulu, Hawaii.

In 1953 Mary married H.R. Evans, Edmonton, ALberta.  They have two adopted sons Richard and Ronnie in Junior High School

Doris - The youngest of the family lives at Lucky Strike Alberta.   Her husband is Thomas Wilson, a farmer.  They have two sons.
        Gary Wilson, banker, married Carol Losey of Lucky Strike Alberta.
        Wayne Wilson is a student attending High School and living at home.
