THE GEORGE ("PAT") FORSYTH FAMILY
George Alexander (Pat) Forsyth came to Russell from Yorkton in 1894 to work with his brother Bill in the livery business. He began farming on the Henry Clee farm in Craigie in 1902, rented the Barnardo Home for a season and later also worked sixty acres on the Cleave Rea farm. In 1907 he married Ida Emma, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Seeback of Russell. They moved on the farm on 21-20-28 that their son George no works. They lived there until they retired to Russell. Their family consists of five sons and two daughters: Herbert of Binscarth; George of Craigie; Den at home; Edward of Brandon; and Bill of Arvida, Quebec; Beryl, Mrs. Rutherford of Montreal; and Merie, Mrs. Kelly of Winnipeg. In 1957 the family and neighbours helped Mr. and Mrs. George Forsyth celebrate their golden wedding.
