HARRY BELL FAMILY by Leila McLachlan (Leila Bell)
Henry (Harry) Albert Bell, born in Whitby, Ont, came out to Russell 1908. He held the position of manager of Smellie Bros. store until 1932, when he left to go into the grocery business for himself, a few doors north of the store. He retired in 1945 and moved to Brandon where he died in 1950.
Harry married a local girl, Annie Clee, daughter of
Alfred Clee. Their family consisted of four girls:
Rita - married H.A. Hunter, R.C.M.P. officer now
retired, living in St. Stephen N.B.
Doreen - Married Dr. R. S. Harris, lives in Virden, and has
three children, Hugh, Judith and Linda.
Leila - married D.W. McLachlan, printer living in Virden,
has three children, Margaret, Jack and Kathryn.
Zella - married G.E. Dunkin, optometrist, live in Victoria,
B.C., has two children, Paul and Joanne.
