THE FAMILY OF WILLIAM MARTIN

William Martin, son of William Martin of Boulton, homesteaded in the Peace River district in 1917. He lives at Beaver Lodge, Alberta on the Alaska Highway. He has five sons and three daughters all married and living on thriving farms but one boy who sells insurance. The eldest son lives on his father’s homestead. William died in 1963.

Samuel Martin, the other son, lives at Pelly, Sask. He married Agnes Beattie. Sam farmed for a few years, then went into blacksmithing until 1965 when he retired. His son Ritchie has taken over the business.

Sarah Martin became Mrs. Hugh Hughes. Their family consisted of Albert of Lindsay, Ont.; Nellie, Mrs. Angus Strachan of Toronto; Mary, Mrs. George Hiller of Russell (deceased), and Stanley of Camp Shilo. Mrs. Hughes passed on a number of years ago.
