Asessippi Parkland Economic Development

The Asessippi Parkland Economical Development Committee, formerly Pelly Trail Economic Development, is the local economic development organization serving the Region.
The group is composed of local residents, elected officials and business people concerned about the future of the area. This volunteer organization is in the process of undertaking a number of projects which include; promoting the existing business sector of the region, assisting new business start-up and implementing an overall economic development strategy for the area.
Asessippi Parkland Community Development Corporation

Part of the strategy designed to promote and foster new business in the region has been the creation of the Asessippi Parkland Community Development Corporation. The establishment of over $50,000 in a local community development fund means adequate monies exist for small business start up loans.
Individuals or businesses wishing to access funds must complete an application. Loans are not to exceed $10,000 with the maximum term of repayment being five years.

The mandate of Parkland West Economic Development (PWED) is to work individually with local communities to assist ongoing organizational development program and planning process for each community; and to act as a resource to local businesses, individuals and organizations. Services provided by Parkland West Economic Development are:

Information on financial and non-financial programs available to individuals, businesses,
groups and municipalities.

Assistance in accessing available programs.

Area demographic and business and industry composition information.

Technical assistance for community groups and projects.

Information and general support to local economic development groups.

Assistance with the research and development of a comprehensive business plan.
Parkland Community Futures Development Corporation

Parkland Community Futures Development Corporation (PCFDC) is a federally funded regional community and economic development program. The program is locally controlled and delivered by a volunteer board of representatives of the municipalities, businesses and community economic development organizations of the Parkland.
PCFDC works with the communities of the Parkland in an attempt to achieve a cooperative environment within the Region which promotes leadership and supports individuals, businesses, organizations and communities through a coordinated strategic plan. Thus, promoting economic growth, stability. business development, employment creation and a positive entrepreneurial environment and enhanced quality of life.
